For the past few months the Nauta Design team has been smart working with the same passion and professionalism as ever, obtaining excellent results and respecting all deadlines for the many projects that are keeping us happily occupied.

The enthusiasm and satisfaction that we get from working on such high level projects is allowing us to look beyond the current situation of uncertainty with confidence for the future.

As far as projects for sailing yachts go, we are currently in the final phases for three yachts that are already sold and under construction for owners who can’t wait to see them on the water.

The REICHEL/PUGH-NAUTA 100’ is completed in the Cape Town sheds of Southern Wind Shipyard. Launch for this yacht- with naval architecture penned by Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design and Nauta Design general concept, exterior and interior design- is scheduled for September 2020. This custom project was created for an owner who is an expert yachtsman and wanted a performance-oriented yacht for competing in the most prestigious international regattas that could also offer an excellent on board lifestyle. For this project we combined a modern and aggressive look with safety and comfort for a truly intriguing performance cruiser.

The SOUTHERN WIND 105GT with Farr Yacht Design naval architecture and Nauta Design for the exterior and interior design is the latest result in the long and winning collaboration between Nauta Design, Farr Y.D. and the South African shipyard. The Nauta-SWS collaboration has been on-going for twenty years and that has produced over forty yachts that range from 78’ to 110’-for a grand total of almost 4,000’ L.O.A.!

The SW105GT will be launched in spring 2021 and features an all-new deck design that is as innovative as it is modern. Its lines recall Gran Turismo race cars that are designed for high performance over long distances, just like this yacht is. Hence its project name: SW105GT.

The REICHEL/PUGH-NAUTA 151’, with Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design naval architecture and Nauta Design general concept, exterior and interior design is currently under construction at Royal Huisman and is Nauta’s first collaboration with the world-famous Dutch shipyard. Designed for exploring the world while providing the owner and guests with the highest quality and most comfortable lifestyle, featuring a very lightweight construction for being competitive in the international regattas, this 46m cruiser-racer sloop is built in aluminum and carbon fibre and has all the latest technology including a Panamax carbon fibre mast built by Rondal.

Nauta Design is also working on two prestigious motor yacht commissions, both being built in Northern European shipyards. Combined, these superyacht projects total well over 200m LOA. The first of them will be delivered next year, the second one in 2023.

Last but not least, we’re working on three spec projects that are already well on their way to being developed and engineered. Two of these projects are in collaboration with an Italian shipyard, the third is with a Dutch shipyard. All three projects fall between 70m and 85m LOA.

We’re working hard and with our usual, great passion on all these projects, that are yet another chance for us to interpret the expectations of our owners in terms of functionality and efficiency and to impress for the timeless elegance of their clean lines. Yachts that are the ideal vehicles for emotion and adventure at sea.

Pure Nauta Design. As always.
